Description	This tutorial has been designed for health service staff who are increasingly being confronted with incidents of occupational violence and aggression. n Occupational violence and aggression (OV&A) not only affects the health and wellbeing of health service staff but has significant workforce and financial implications for the health care industry. For all of these reasons, staff need to know how to prevent, reduce and manage incidents of violence and aggression in the workplace. About the author Brendan Scully is a former police officer with over ten years of experience. Since leaving the service Brendan has become a consultant in the area of occupational violence and aggression prevention. Brendan has been advising the Australian Nursing Federation (ANF) in relation to prevention and management of occupational violence and aggression (OV&A) in health care since 2001 and has also provided training in this area to the Victorian Department of Health. Brendan also assisted with the making of the film that is featured in this tutorial.
