Emergency Drugs  (Preview)

Description

nEmergency Drugs - Are you Prepared?.
§Emergencies happen unexpectedly and require the nurse to respond promptly and confidently.
§Whilst many specific medical and nursing interventions may be required, the administration of pharmacological agents is common requiring the nurse to anticipate the drug needed, then prepare and administer as ordered by the medical officer. (or as per standing drug orders).

§Acute, life threatening emergency situations commonly involve problems which effect the cardiovascular and respiratory systems.
§Thus we will focus on emergencies relating to these two systems.
