nThe manual lifting and moving of people is a high risk activity and it is a major contributor of musculoskeletal injuries to nurses, health professionals and carers.

       

nThis tutorial is a guide to managing the risks arising from manual handling, particularly when assisting patients to move. Correct use of relevant equipment will be discussed along with a workplace checklist for assessing competence in manual handling in the workplace.
